INDIAN ISLAND – Ursula Ann Sockbeson, 40, passed along peacefully June 21, 2006, at her residence on Indian Island, to be greeted by her father and ancestors at the gates of heaven. She was born June 26, 1965, in Bangor, the daughter of Henry J. Sockbeson Jr. and Mary Clarice (Tomer) Sockbeson. Despite many health problems for all of her life, Ursula was always a very loving and caring person. She overcame her problems well enough to live independently and was very proud to have received her GED. Ursula loved the movie industry and had a movie collection that would be the envy of any movie buff. She also loved her two cats, Penny and Puzzles, who gave her much joy in her life. She could beat anyone at video games and movie trivia. She also liked to play bingo and go to all the best movies as they came out. Ursula had a big heart and was very thoughtful when it came time for birthdays and holidays. We all will miss her sentimental cards that she always picked out with such care and love. Ursula is survived by her loving mother, Mary C. Sockbeson, who devoted her entire life to making sure Ursula was taken care of. She is also survived by her sister, Jessica Banks and her husband, John Banks; her brother, Kevin F. Sockbeson and his wife, Angie Sockbeson; her brother, Henry J. Sockbeson III and his wife, Dee Sockbeson; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Ursula also had many friends at the Wabanaki Mental Health Association in Bangor, and our thanks go out to all of them for all they’ve done for her over the years. Ursula was predeceased by her father, Henry J. Sockbeson Jr. Friends and family may call 3 p.m. Sunday through 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church on Indian Island, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Kerns celebrant. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Indian Island Cemetery behind the old school. Arrangements are by Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. www.birminghamfuneralhome.com
