ISLAND FALLS – Velma P. Gallagher, 94, died Sept. 2, 2007, at her home. She was born May 22, 1913, in New Brunswick, the daughter of Duncan and Melissa (DeMerchant) Green. Velma enjoyed her family, fishing, Beano and slot machines. She is survived by six children, Avis Unterreiner and her husband, Bill, of Sherman, Damey Robinson of Medway, George Gallagher Jr. of Sher-man, Julia McLellan of East Millinocket, Agnes Michaud of Sherman and Clifford Gallagher of Island Falls; several grandchildren, great-grand-children, great-great-grand-children, many nieces, nephews, cousins; one close nephew, Reggie Beaulieu; one sister, Mary Worsley of Canada; and one sister-in-law, Zeta Green of Canada. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, George Sr.; and four children, Roberta, Geraldine, Margarete and Irene. A graveside funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Sherman Mills Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Johnson officiating.
