BANGOR – Verna Jean (Heald) Matis, 77, formerly of Seabrook, N.H., wife of the late Frank S. Matis, died Oct. 21, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. Verna will be deeply missed by her three children and grandchildren, Margaret Boudreau and her husband, Fred, of Stetson and their daughter, Wren, Frank E. Matis and his son, Asa, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Carol Matis and her children, Brian L. Stout and Sarah A. Stout of Haverhill, Mass.; two brothers, Charles Heald and Kenneth Heald; one sister, Lucille Maxson; many special sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from Sunbury Village. She was predeceased by two sisters, and four brothers. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Hillside Cemetery, Seabrook, N.H., with a reception after the service at the Galley Hatch Restaurant, Hampton, N.H.
