PALERMO and LAKELAND, Fla. – Gloria Jean Merrithew (Carey) Monson went to heaven Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, with her devoted husband, Bill, by her side after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 24, 1943, at her parents’ home on Western Ridge, Palermo, the daughter of Willie R. and Mary (Osgood) Merrithew. The family thanks the staff and nurses on the Gibson Pavilion at Maine Medical Center and at the Country Manor Nursing Home, Cooper’s Mills for the loving and professional care that she received. The family would like to invite all to attend remembrance services for Gloria. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Plummer Funeral Home, Windsor Chapel, 983 Ridge Road, Windsor. A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, with time for fellowship after the service, at the Palermo Christian Church, 322 Branch Mills Road, Palermo.
