LUBEC – Butch Mallock, 60, passed away peacefully April 16, 2004, at a Bangor hospital with his family by his side. Butch was born June 13, 1943, the son of Muriel and Elwood Mallock of Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada. He was the second of five children. On October 31, 1964, he married Becky S. Leighton, and together they had two daughters. Lisa Mallock-Ross of Lubec and Melissa M. Pottle of Alexander. Butch was a commercial fisherman for many years before moving to Massachusetts with his wife. He returned to Maine in 1970, where he again enjoyed commercial fishing. In the late 1970s, he joined the United Brotherhood of Carpenter/Millwrights Local 1996, where he worked until this past year. He was an avid hunter and sports fisherman and loved spending time in the outdoors with friends and loved ones. Butch also enjoyed numerous sporting events and especially enjoyed watching the New England Patriots. He was predeceased by his first wife, Becky; and his father, Elwood. Subsequently he was fortunate enough to find love again and recently married Tammy Savage of Lubec. Tammy and Butch were found spending many special weekends at Rocky Lake, where he taught her his expert fishing techniques. He is survived by his wife, Tammy; his mother, Muriel Mallock; his daughter, Lisa and her husband, Kevin; his grandson, Jordan and stepgrandchildren, Michael, Kevin and Jasmine; his daughter, Missy and her husband, Tony, and grandson, Braden; his sisters, Deanna and Bonnie; and brothers, Howard and Billy; stepchildren, Rhonda and husband, Derek, David and stepgranddaughters, Hope and Mable; a large extended family; a special mother-in-law, Glennys Leighton; stepfamily and many wonderful friends. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, April 18, at the Lubec Christian Temple Church with Pastor Gary Look officiating. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to McClure Family Funeral Services.
