PROSPECT HARBOR – Vincent C. Smirz, 73, died unexpectedly in his sleep at his home in Prospect Harbor, Aug. 6, 2004. He was born Aug. 2, 1931, at Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Charles and Marie (Zidilicky) Smirz. Vincent served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He operated West Bay Greenhouses in Prospect Harbor for more than 25 years. Vincent was a member of Winter Harbor Lodge No. 192 AF & AM. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan Smirz of Prospect Harbor; his son, Mark and wife, Reine, and their children, Deven and Gina of Gastonia, N.C.; his daughter, Lee Sargent and husband, Scott, and their children, Ian and Katlyn of Orland. He was predeceased by one son, Matt in 1986. Friends are invited to join his family in a celebration of his life 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at his home on 368 West Bay Road in Prospect Harbor.
