CARIBOU – Viola H. Walker, 78, wife of the late William Walker, died Aug. 10, 2008, in Caribou. She was born Dec. 24, 1929, in St. Francis, daughter of Vincent and Elsie (Brownell) Hafford. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. She is survived by two sons, James Walker of St. Albans, Vt., and Timothy Walker of Caribou; six daughters, Gloria Saucier of Buford, Ga., Nancy Price and her husband, Brian, of Perth Andover, New Brunswick, Marsha St. Jean of Waterville, Carla Rossignol and her husband, Richard, Della Walker and Tracy Rossignol and her husband, Arthur, all of Caribou; seven sisters, Ann Lovely and her husband, Elbridge, of Mapleton, Ida Beaulieu, Mary West and Ella Leighton, all of Fort Fairfield, Mona O’Neal of Caribou, Christina York of Presque Isle and Rose Stearns of North Carolina; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two daughters, Mary Hafford and Virginia Walker; two brothers, Vincent and Dana Hafford; and a granddaughter, Desiree Roman. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Father Aaron Damboise, associate pastor, officiating in a Mass of Christian burial.
