LEVANT – Viola Mae Brann, 102, wife of Howard Brann, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at her home. She was born Sept. 3, 1905, in Carmel, the daughter of Emerson and Gladys (Carter) Ross. She was employed for many years at Tucker Shoe Factory, Brewer, and was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to all. Survivors include her husband, Howard Brann; her daughter, Adela Lorraine Gallant and fianc?, Don Mishio; granddaughter, Pamela Mae Young and husband, George, of Levant; grandson, Jay Deran Porter and wife, Valerie, of Levant; a very special and much loved great-granddaughter, Megan Jessica Young of Levant, whom Viola doted on and baby-sat for since Megan was born to the day Viola died; one sister, Lillian Ross of Carmel; and too many nieces and nephews to list individually. She was predeceased by her parents; her son, Alton Ross; three sisters, Zelma Boyle, Mona Thayer and Ruth Hitchcock; three brothers, Gene Ross, Roby Ross and Ralph Ross. Viola’s door, as well as her arms and heart were always open to anyone in need of a home cooked meal or a place to stay. Several family members and friends called her home, their home. Viola was greatly loved. The family extends a special thank you to all the people – you know who you are, who spent time with Viola to make her life enjoyable. We will always remember what you did for Viola. At Viola’s request, services will be private. Interment will be held at North Carmel Cemetery, next to her son, Alton.
