WASHBURN – Viola P. Peary, 89, died Sunday morning, Sept. 9, 2007, at Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle. She was born April 11, 1918, in New Sweden, the daughter of Carl D. and Martha (Nelson) Anderson. She worked as a LPN for a number of years at A.R. Gould Hospital, Presque Isle. Viola enjoyed doing crafts, knitting, sewing and was a wonderful artist. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Washburn, where she served on the ladies missions and taught Sunday school. She is survived by three sons and their wives, Gaynol and Linda Peary of Fort Fairfield, Richard and Christa Peary of Sidney and Donald and Janet Peary of Washburn; a brother, Ralph Anderson of Manchester, Conn.; two sisters, Vangeline Jernstrom of East Ham, Mass., and Doris Brown of Brewer; six grandchildren, seven great-grand-children, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Linwood W. Peary. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at First Baptist Church, Main Street, Washburn, with Pastor Clark Jalbert officiating. Fri-ends may call 1 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Perham.
