BASS HARBOR – Viola (Weymouth) Thurlow, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away July 2, 2007, in Bar Harbor. She was born Dec. 26, 1931, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Earl F. and Harriett (Reynolds) Weymouth. Viola was an active member of Olsen Memorial Church. She lived for her family and enjoyed spending time with them, members of her congregation and tending her beautiful flower gardens. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Earl F. Thurlow of Bass Harbor; four children, Gail Farley of Ellsworth, David Thurlow and his wife, Mary, Richard Thurlow and his wife, Nancy, all of Bass Harbor and Greg Thurlow and his wife, Anchalina, of Cape Elizabeth; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a special sister, Ruth (Weymouth) McFarland of Bar Harbor; a sister-in-law, Barbara Thurlow Andrews of Covina, Calif., and many nieces and nephews. A private service will be performed by Pastor Gregory R. Hewitt for family and members of Viola’s congregations, including the Olsen Memorial Church and Cornerstone Baptist Church.
