KENDUSKEAG and BIRCH HARBOR – Violace Elaine (Church) Lindsey, 75, died peacefully Feb. 24, 2004, at her daughter’s home in Stetson, surrounded by her family. She was born Nov. 17, 1928, in Birch Harbor. Violace graduated from Sumner High School in 1946, she then went on to Beal College for business and graduated in 1948. She was also a fashion model for Rines Co., while she attended Beal’s. She then married the love of her life and lifelong partner in 1949, Walter Basil Lindsey who went home to the Lord’s house to watch over and wait for her with their two daughters, Deborah Jean and Darlene Ann Lindsey. In heaven her parents, Joshua Colon Church and Adella Temple Church; her second mom, Rena; also a sister, Janice; and her brothers, Colon T., Denton and Allen Church will greet her. Her life and her love will live on in her children, Leonel Lindsey and Denise, Kathy Lindsey, Linda McIntyre and her husband, Vincent, Joanne Libby-McGouldrick and her husband, Richard, and Peter Lindsey. Her grandchildren brought so much joy to her and they will miss her dearly; Michelle and Jennifer Lindsey, Angela and Michael McIntyre, Teresa and Bradford Libby, Amy Lindsey, Jessica, Re’Ann, Re’Nea and Preston Lindsey, Joseph and Chelsea McGouldrick, and Lisa and Felicia McIntyre; her great-grandchildren, Brett and Gavin McIntyre; and great-stepgrandchildren, Megan and Ben Libby, Damien and Jacob Gibson; and great-great-stepgranddaughter, Zoe. Her love will live on in her sister, Estelle Chipman and Avery; her brothers, Edison and Leticia Church, and Birchard and Gloria Church and Terri and Sharon Bamford; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her very special friend of many years, Angie Weeks will miss her also, along with many other friends. She devoted her entire married life and beyond to her children and grandchildren and the love of her life, Walter. Her arms, heart and home were always open to whomever needed her. Her belief in the Lord Jesus Christ brought her through many tough times over the years and now she has returned to the Lord’s house where she will dwell with all who have gone home before her and wait for those who will follow. She will be forever missed by all who love her. Friends are invited to meet with the family 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the Birch Harbor Baptist Church with Pastor William Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Birch Harbor Cemetery, Birch Harbor.
