VIOLET I. LUCE NEWPORT and AUBURN Violet I. Luce, 81, died Nov. 3, 2007, at a Lewiston hospital. She was born July 28, 1926, in Plymouth, a daughter of Edward and Marion (Elston) Harding. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends, especially time spent with her grandchildren. Violet attended Newport Full Gospel Church, Jubilee Family Worship Center, before moving to Auburn. She is survived by her children, Ronald and wife, Neva Luce, of Newport, Irene and husband, Patrick C. Haining, of Stetson, Randolph and wife, Eleanor Luce, of East Newport, Thomas and wife, Tammy Luce, of Stetson, Nancy and husband, David Sgroi, of Bangor, Frances and husband, Hien Nguyen, of Auburn; 13 grandchildren; and one great- granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband, Carlton, Feb. 28, 1984; and by her son, Brian, April 20, 2005. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, with the Rev. Matthew Ward officiating.
