EAST MACHIAS – Virginia W. Munson, 86, went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2004. She was born April 4, 1918, in East Machias, where she lived most of her life. She will be remembered for “Ginny’s Tearoom” which she and her parents ran on route 1 for many years. In her later years, she attended church in Marshfield. She was a very caring person and always liked to do for others, especially cooking, as long as she could. She was predeceased by her parents, Hovey and Anna Munson, and their twins. She is survived by her cousin, Dalton Munson and wife, Edith, Patti and Brandy Devericks, Ginny Huntley, David and Barbara Pierce of Massachusetts, Robert and Chloe Pierce and family of Massachusetts, Martha Ryan of Illinois, Edward Lockwood of Massachusetts, Martin and Peggy Hukki of East Machias, Edward Wiswell of Larabee, Agnes Wiswell, John Wiswell, Mrs. Donald Woodbury, Mrs. Berbard Cheney, Rebecca Carlson, and Faye Ryan. Ginny had many wonderful caring neighbors, especially Bill Hoar and family, Esther Lyford and family, Una Waterhouse, Brian and Laurel Tarbell and family and for years Tom and Carol Paul; and so many other friends and cousins too numerous to mention who thought the world of her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Down East Community Hospital where she was well cared for. A special thanks to Dr. Gaddis and staff, Carolyn Seletsky, and the girls in the lab, homecare givers, Judy Lingley, and the many other doctors and nurses who provided her care. A graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004, at the East Machias Village Cemetery with Pastor John Sprague officiating. Arrangements are in the care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Lubec.
