PEMBROKE – Wallace R. Brown, 76, went to be with the Lord Feb. 11, 2007, at his home. Wallace was born March 30, 1930, in Dennysville, the son of the late Harry and Hazel (Ward) Brown. He graduated from Dennysville High School in 1948. At an early age, Wallace started working with his father in the woods and later became co-owner and operator of Brown Brothers Trucking. He also worked at American Can, Lubec and for Graham Brothers of Marion, as a heavy equipment operator. Wallace had a love for dancing and camping with his many friends. He especially enjoyed many hours of swimming, water-skiing and boating at their camp on Orange Lake. Shortly after he retired, he realized a lifelong dream of seeing Alaska. Wallace attended the First Baptist Church, Pembroke. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Barbara Lingley and Anna Belle Brown. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Helen; three daughters, Colleen Smith and husband, Craig, Cheryl Curtis and husband, Danny and Jan Brown and fianc?, Kevin Small; three sisters, Alberta Preston, Joyce Boyington and Priscilla Griffin; a brother, John Brown; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Liberty Hill Road, Pembroke, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Gary Kinney officiating. Burial will be immediately after at Dennysville Cemetery.
