BANGOR and GREENVILLE Samuel S. Bigney, 92, died Feb. 8, 2007, at a local nursing home. He was born March 29, 1914, in Greenville, the son of Samuel B. and Sara (Martin) Bigney. Sam graduated from Green-ville High School and Bentley College. He was an accountant, farmer and businessman. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe as a chief warrant officer, receiving the Bronze Star. Sam was a member of the World Wide Church of God, Bangor. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Meade) Bigney of Bangor; two sons, James and his wife, Tracy Bigney, of Bangor, Edmund and his wife, Yukiko Bigney, of Trenton; four grand-children, Christine Bigney, Sarah Shaw, Benjamin Bigney and Sarah Bigney; two great-grandchildren, Darrien and Johnathan. He was predeceased by four sisters, Mabel McArdle, Alice Bigney, Mary Alley and M. Hope Robinson; one brother, Carl Snow. Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 300 State St., with a memorial service 3 p.m. with the Rev. James Cook, pastor of the World Wide Church of God, officiating. Interment will be in the spring in the family lot at Greenville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to the Hiram Hunt School League, care of Superintendent of Schools, P.O.
