WALLACE R. HAMILTON DOVER-FOXCROFT – Wallace R. Hamilton, 89, husband of Lois (Jacks) Hamilton died May 30, 2004, at a local nursing home. He was born in Bury, Quebec, Canada, April 18, 1915, the son of George and Julia (Clark) Hamilton. Wally graduated from Greenville High School in 1932 and worked at Redmond’s Garage for many years. He was a well known antique dealer in Dover-Foxcroft, where he and his beloved wife, Lois ran the Red Barn Antiques. His knowledge and passion of gun collecting was respected by all who knew him. A visit to the Red Barn Antiques was an experience one never forgot, greeted with coffee, tea and cookies and then a chance to look through the house and barn for a treasure to take home. Wally is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lois of Dover-Foxcroft; a son, Gerald Hamilton and his companion, Carolyn, both of Greenville; a daughter-in-law, Georgina Magee of Dover-Foxcroft; and four great-grandchildren, Cynthia Hamilton, Nathan Hamilton, Suzanne Kaiser, Timothy Magee and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Wally would like to remember special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Chesley, Wayne Champeon, Tim Gould and Ted Wadleigh. A graveside funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at the family lot in the Pine Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Dale officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make memorial donations to the Hibbard Nursing Home Activity Fund, P.O. Box 159, Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
