ZANESVILLE, Ind. – Wallace “Wally” Klausky, born July 8, 1934, to Miriam (Higgins) and Joseph L. Klau-sky in Taunton, Mass., passed away June 5, 2008, at Lutheran Hospital. When he graduated from Taunton High School, the family moved to Southwest Harbor, where his father had established a lobster brokering and shipping business. Wally trucked lobsters from Newfoundland and the Maritimes to Boston before and after his enlistment in the U.S. Army. He later owned his own business. When he left Maine and moved to Florida, he was employed by and retired from the Broward County School Board as an instructor at McFatter Voc Tech, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He and his wife spent later years in Venice, Fla., and moved to Zanesville, Ind., in 2007. He is survived by his wife, Grace Bernice (Hancock) of Zanesville, Ind.; his daughter, Karen Klausky of Southwest Harbor; his son, Robert and wife, Kathleen, of Ellsworth; and his son, David of Southwest Harbor. He is also survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Sheila Klausky of Manset; brother, Alan Klausky and partner, Marian Conner, and her daughter, Mae, of Southwest Harbor; brother, Joseph L. Klausky Jr. and wife, Anne, of Daytona, Fla.; surviving stepchildren are Cynthia Cant and husband, James, of Salem, Mass., David Gaiser and wife, Ursula, of Bradford, Vt., Charles Hornberger of Brighton, Mass., the Rev. Dr. Ted J. Gaiser of Brighton, Mass., and Robert Gaiser and wife, Elizabeth, of Southwest Harbor; surviving grandchildren are James, Paige and Cameron Klausky, all of Maine; surviving stepgrandchildren are Jaclyn Milne of Danvers, Mass., Dexter Gaiser of Vermont, and Julia and Sarah McDonald, both of Austin, Texas. He was predeceased by his parents; and his brother, Michael Klau-sky. Missing him will be close friends, Melba and Kenny Edwards, the Rev. Dan and Andrea Helm, the Rev. Ralph and Glenda Thornton and Rosemary and Steve Kumfer; and many friends and relatives in Massachusetts, Florida and Maine. Calling hours were held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, at Thoma/Rich, Chaney and Lemler Funeral Home, Bluffton, Ind., with a Lions Club service 8 p.m. Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Ted Gaiser, the Rev. Dan Helm and the Rev. Ralph Thornton officiating. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post No. 111 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
