EAST MILLINOCKET – Walter “Billy” R. Boynton Jr., 73, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at the Millinocket Regional Hospital. He was born March 2, 1933, in East Millinocket. He was the first son of Harriet (Nolan) and Walter R. Boynton Sr. Before settling down with his wife of more than 52 years, Janet (McAdam), Billy served in the Army. Billy was a devoted husband, dedicated father and fun loving grandfather. He had a colorful, charismatic personality and was a bank of knowledge for his grandchildren. Billy was always loving and selfless in anything he did. He loved hunting, fishing, cutting wood, the outdoors and gardening. Billy enjoyed visits by the family dogs, his special “furry babies.” He was a faithful servant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church serving as a Eucharistic minister and lector. He was also a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus with whom he shared many special friendships. Billy loved to celebrate life. He was a smooth dancer and it was a delight to watch him and Janet grace the dance floor. He was a papermaker at Great Northern Paper for more than 43 years. Billy will be sadly missed by his wife, Janet; his father, Walter “Bill” Boynton Sr., both of East Millinocket; his children, Terry Vigue and her husband, Duane, of Germany, Julie Fiske and her husband, Dick, of Medway, Charles and his wife, Elaine, of Oregon, Jill Pelkey and her husband, Mark, of East Millinocket; his 13 grandchildren, Julian Szabo, Ben Boynton, Adam Vigue, Aaron Vigue, Kristi Fiske, Kathy Fiske, Jaime McNeal and her husband, Darren, Cori Boynton, Seth Boynton, Zachary Boyn-ton, Josh Pelkey, Kara McDunnah and her husband, DJ, and James Pelkey; three great-grandchildren, Madeleine and Sophie Haley and Noah Mc-Neal; his siblings, Anita Angotti and her husband, Frank, Robert Boynton, Ralph Boyn-ton and Cora Clay; mother-in-law, Melvina McAdam; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine Ridge and her husband, Ralph, Kenny McAdam and his wife, Rene, Gene McAdam and his wife, Shirley, Jackie McAdam, Patty Trainor and her husband, David, and David McAdam and his wife, Marlene; godparents and special friends, Mary and Frank Civiello; as well as many other nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends. Billy was predeceased by his mother, Harriet; his daughter, Karen; his brother-in-law, Robert Mc-Adam; and two special godchildren, James and Joe Timoney. Friends are invited to visit with the family during the hours of 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at the Bouchard – Lamson Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket. Interment will be at East Millinocket Cemetery. In remembrance of Billy going without food or drink for more than five months, we, his family, can now find comfort in the words of one of his favorite songs – “At the table of grace the cup’s never empty, the plate’s always full, and it’s never too late to come and be filled with love never ending, you’re always welcome at the table of grace.” Well done, good and faithful servant!
