MEDWAY – Walter “Cookie” Pray, 64, husband of Berna-dette (Cox) Pray, died Dec. 21, 2005, at his home in Medway. He was born in Belgrade, March 29, 1941, the son of Frank William Pray and Edna M. (Cook) Pray. Cookie worked as a millwright at the mill in East Millinocket for 37 years. He loved to fish at Schoodic Lake, was an avid hunter and enjoyed watching NASCAR. In addition to his wife, Bernadette, he is survived by three children, Mark Pray and his wife, Paula, of Medway, Scott Pray and his wife, Susan, of New Britain, Conn., and Alana Lagasse and her husband, Paul, of East Millinocket; six grandchildren, Rachel Pray, Jeanine Pray, Jacob Pray, Alison Lonicki, Kristin Lonicki, Cameron Lagasse; one grandson on the way, Noah Legasse; two sisters, Diane Wood and Merrill Pray, both of Belgrade; a special mother-in-law, Clara Cox; many nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, William Pray and Lawrence Pray and one sister, Anita Young. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005 at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Calvary Temple with the Rev. Regginal Adams officiating. Spring interment will be in Grindstone Road Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group.
