SURRY – Walter Joseph Maguire III, 58, passed away Oct. 2, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. Walter was born in Trumbull, Conn., the son of Walter and Catherine (Bouffard) Maguire II. Walter was a graduate of Northeastern University, Boston with an engineering degree. After having worked throughout the country, Walter and Joan returned to an area they both enjoyed very much, Surry, where they took over the Bay Market and Deli. He is survived by his wife, Joan Maguire of Surry; daughter, Kelli Francishini and husband, Joey; Walt’s grandchildren, Andrew, Patrick and Emily, all of Lawrenceville, N.J.; son, Jay Maguire and wife, Colleen; grandchildren, Gavin and Morigan, all of Seymore, Conn.; stepdaughter, Janice Shultz and husband, James; grandchildren, Sarah, Ashley and Emily; great-grandson, Damion, all of New Ipswich, N.H.; sister, Bonnie Pumerantz and husband, Howard, of Simsbury, Conn.; niece, Amy; two nephews, Aaron and Danny; and brother, Mark Maguire of Nashville, Tenn. Walter was predeceased by his parents. A visitation for family and friends will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Scott Mower, celebrant.
