PRESQUE ISLE – Wendell W. Wilcox passed away Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle after a brief illness. He was born April 19, 1931, in Mapleton, the son of Charles and Nettie (Ireland) Wilcox. Wendell was retired but still “on call” in the family business at Aroosta Cast, Inc., Presque Isle, where he was a truck driver for more than 30 years. Business associates will remember Wendell for his precision skills with a boom truck, always able to deliver the produce to most any location, under most any condition. Wendell had a tremendous love for the great outdoors, and especially enjoyed fishing all year round. Wendell is survived by his two children, Kevin Wilcox and wife, Denise, of Presque Isle, and April Griesinger and husband, Jerry, of Nashua, N.H.; also three stepchildren, Russell Pratt and wife, Dawn Farnham and husband, Bob, and Dale Pratt and wife, Lorrie. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Heather McEwen of Fort Fairfield, Christina Kinney of Mars Hill, Jessica Lewin of Massachusetts, and Jarrod Lewin and Megan Crevier of New Hampshire; several step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving Wendell are his two brothers and their wives, Darrell “Dick” and Cecile Wilcox of Mapleton, and Lewis and Marie Wilcox, of Presque Isle; many nephews and nieces. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his close companion and best friend, Irene Crory. Wendell was predeceased in 1998 by his wife, Marie (Nason) Wilcox. He was also predeceased by his parents and a sister, Virginia “Ginny” (Wilcox) Day. Calling hours will be held 7-9 p.m. Sunday evening, Jan. 30, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31.
