OLD TOWN – Wilfred J. Dupuis Sr., 89, husband of the late Doris E. (Johnston) Dupuis died Feb. 19, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Sept. 7, 1915, in Old Town, a son of Ben and Hermine (Bodreau) Dupuis. Mr. Dupuis served the Conservation Corps in Greenville, was employed at area shoe shops, and during the War was a welder at Bath Iron Works. He retired from Diamond International, Old Town, in 1980 after 32 years of service. He enjoyed gardening and working his farm in Old Town. The last several years he enjoyed his time at Jennifer Collins’ Golden Years Adult Center and the Country Villa Inn. He is survived by six children, Dale Dupuis and her friend, Lyn Sulinski, of Surry, Wilfred Dupuis Jr. and his wife, Jean, of St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Donald Dupuis and his wife, Mary Kay, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Ronald Dupuis and his wife, Sharon, of Old Town, John Dupuis and his wife, Bonita, of Boothbay, Peter Dupuis of Steamboat, Colo.; 16 grandchildren, Cindi Moosey and her husband, Paul, Wilfred Dupuis III, Brandon Dupuis, Danielle O’Toole and her husband, Tim, Garrett Dupuis, Alana Dupuis, Emily Dupuis, Wendy Schaffer and her husband, Tom, Sara Dupuis, Daniel Dupuis, Aimee Doerksen and her husband, Clayton, Jody Caron and her husband, Joe, Rex Dupuis and his wife, Tori, Troy Dupuis, Adam Dupuis, and Douglas Moore; 12 great- grandchildren; a brother, Ben Dupuis and his wife, Jeanne, of Old Town; a brother-in-law, Howard Johnston of Virginia; and a sister-in-law, Blanche Johnston of Greenville. He was predeceased by his wife, Doris, in 1995; seven brothers, Arthur, Clarence, Leon, Valmore, Emile, Albert, and Leon; and a sister, Ida Lavoie; half sister, Ella Thibodeau; and half brother, Joseph Dupuis. Friends may call 3-6 p.m. Thursday at the Birmingham Funeral Home. 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Parish with the Rev. Normand Richard, celebrant. Immediately following the service all are invited to the Parish Hall for a light luncheon and continued fellowship.
