MILFORD – William F. Violette, 62, husband of the late Linda (Thibault) Violette died Feb. 18, 2005, at Maine Veterans’ Home in Bangor. He was born Oct. 14, 1942, in Bangor, a son of Joseph and Mary Ann (Gallant) Violette. Bill graduated from Orono High School, Class of 1960 and enlisted in the U.S. Marines Corps as a paratrooper. Upon his return home from the Marines, he was employed by the Maine Department of Transportation for 29 years retiring in 1999. He enjoyed gardening and flowers, reading Stephen King novels, and in his younger years enjoyed golf and bowling. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post No. 84 of Orono. He was a respected man and will be remembered by many. He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Violette and her fianc?, Ron Pooler, of Milford; special grandson, Peyton Christopher Pooler; his mother, Mary Ann Violette of Orono; five sisters, Victoria Corey and her husband, John, of Farmington, Ida Jean Breen and her husband, Albert, of Albuquerque, N.M., Mary Ann Burns and her husband, Patrick, of Hudson, Catherine Wiles of Orono, Betty Violette of Old Town; mother-in-law, Edwina Thibault of Old Town; sisters-in-law, Michelle Collins and her husband, George, of Bradley, Edith Brown and her husband, Larry, of Old Town; brothers-in-law, Edward Thibault of Bangor and David Thibault and his wife, Karen, of Old Town; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Linda, in 1996 and his father, Joseph. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Bradley. Spring interment with military honors will be conducted at Evergreen Cemetery.
