PARKMAN – William Barton Woodward, 86, of 1270 State Highway 150, Parkman, died peacefully Dec. 5, 2006, after a long illness at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born Dec. 25, 1919, in Syracuse, N.Y., the son of Edward S. Woodward and Margaret W. Peirce. He resided in Derry, N.H., for a number of years. His passion was the love of language; he was a prolific writer of prose and poetry. He also owned a business dealing in and restoring fine antiques. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward; and a sister, Virginia. Surviving are his brothers, Joseph P. Woodward of Laconia, N.H., Kent P. Woodward of Port Charlotte, Fla., Harvey Feinauer of East Derry, N.H., Timothy Feinauer of Loveland, Colo.; and sisters, Marcia W. Gamache of Concord, N.H., and Judith Hamer of Derry, N.H.; his daughters, Louise P.W. Heath of Easley, S.C. and Heidi L. Hartwell of Derry, N.H.; a son, Brent B. Woodward of North Stonington, Conn.; four grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his most cherished and loyal companion, Constance E. Patterson of Presque Isle; special friends, Rick Eberbach, Ronald Watson and Joe Vernott; and his beloved dog, Bawney. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak St., Guilford, with the Rev. David Kelly officiating. Spring burial will be at Pingree Center Cemetery, Parkman.
