MADAWASKA – William “Bill” Collin, 62, died unexpectedly June 23, 2007, at a family residence in Lille. He was born Jan. 30, 1945, in Madawaska, the son of Edmond and Leona (Soucy) Collin. Bill was a member of the Madawaska Volunteer Fire Department, a fourth degree mem-ber of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2638, Madawaska and a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Frenchville. He retired from Fraser Paper after 42 years. He is survived by his four brothers and their spouses, Richard and Lucille, Emile and Claudette, both of Connecticut, James and Gloria of Madawaska and Edward and Christine of Augusta; five sisters, Mary Ann Collin and Patricia Ouellette of Madawaska, Cecile and Weldon Basque, Val Comeau of New Brunswick, Theresa and Robert Dumais of Frenchville and Fernande and Micheal Rioux of Medway; 14 nieces and nephews, 17 great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Madawaska. Friends and relatives may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday until time of services at Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be at the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, Northeast Affiliate, 343 Gorham Road, South Portland, ME 04106.
