VANCEBORO – William “Bill” L. Wilkie, 93, of Vanceboro, died July 7, 2004, at his home in Vanceboro. Bill was born Jan. 20, 1911, in New York, New Jersey, the son of the late William and Inez (Perriway) Wilkie. Bill was a wonderful, kind man. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and many friends. Bill is survived by his brother, Tom of Billerica, Mass.; his two sons, Scott of Vanceboro, Jerry and wife, Diane, of Lunenburg, Mass.; three daughters, Ann and husband, Dave Driesse, of Waltham, Mass., Rita and husband, Al Nash, of Chelsea, Mass., and Linda Sutton of Dorchester, Mass.; five granddaughters, Christine, Linda, Janine, Karen and Loleen; three grandsons, Jeffery, Paul and Johnny; four great-grandchildren, Jarrod, Kristen, Jessica and James; his very best and special friend, June Lounder of St. Croix, New Brunswick; and many others that will greatly miss him. He was predeceased by his parents; one son, Paul; his first wife of 47 years, Bernice; and his second wife of 20 years, Anne. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2004, at the Church of the Guardian Angel in Vanceboro. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at the Church of the Guardian Angel in Vanceboro. Father Paul Leblanc being assisted by Fr. Bill Brennan will be officiating. Friends and family are invited back to Bill’s home for a lunch following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s name to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 3 Park St., Waterville.
