HOULTON – William Edwin Scorgie Jr., 70, passed away July 13, 2007, after fighting a courageous bat-tle against cancer. He was born Oct. 31, 1936, in Cambridge, Mass., the son of William Edwin Sr. and Hazel (Higgins) Scorgie. He graduated in 1954 from Weston High School, Massachusetts, and served in the U.S. Navy for three years before moving to Washington, D.C. He relocated to Dallas in 1974, where he had a long and successful sales and management career with IBM, Xerox and other office product companies. Bill returned to New England in 1996, where he worked for Wal-Mart until the time of his illness. Bill embraced life and was always ready for a new adventure. He was a very spiritual man and enjoyed having talks with his pastor and reading his Bible. He loved flower gardening, outdoor grilling, anything having to do with computers and we must not forget that he was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Brenda J. (Hartley) Scorgie; and his three children from his first marriage; daughter, Laura Ann Scorgie of Coppell, Texas; sons, James Edwin Scorgie of State College, Pa., and Christopher Thomas Scorgie and his wife, Rosario and their children, Daniel, Victoria and Krista, of Sachse, Texas. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Steven and his wife, Linda and their children, Bonnie Beth and Parker, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Phillip and his wife, Gail, of Dunnellon, Fla., and their son, Brent, of Weymouth, Mass., and Kevin and his life partner, Daniel Raitt, of Dorchester, Mass. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia E. Grzesiak Scorgie. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held Saturday, July 21, at New Limerick Baptist Church with Pastor David Tuttle officiating. Calling hours will be noon-1 p.m. where memorial services will be held 1 p.m. with a fellowship at the church immediately after. The family extends a very special thanks to Gary, Lorraine and Dustin Cullins for all their help and support. Also, they thank Bill’s fellow Wal-Mart associates for their thoughtfulness and generosity. In addition, they thank the staff at Ross Manor, Bangor, for their dedication and compassion in caring for Bill during his stays with them.
