MILLINOCKET – William Henry Craig, 82, husband of 47 years to the late Hilda F. Craig, went home to be with his Lord, Feb. 11, 2007, at Katahdin Nursing Home, Millinocket. Born Feb. 22, 1924, in Orono, he was the son of the late Edward F. Craig and Sadi “Sarah” Stevens and the stepson of Bessie Bernice. He retired from Great Northern Paper Co., Millinocket, as a millwright. He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II in the 92nd Fighter Control Squadron, was a life member and past commander of Bernard L. Coro Chapter No. 22, Disabled Americans Veterans’; life member of Hamm-McGinley Post No. 7409, Mattawamkeag; a member of Millinocket VFW Post No. 4154 and the American Legion Post No. 80, Millinocket; and POW-MIA. He leaves behind seven wonderful children, Belinda Kimball and her husband, Harry, of Medway, Richard Craig of Medway, Edward Craig and his wife, Heather, of Millinocket, Dianne MacKenzie and her husband, Mac, of Millinocket, Stephanie VanDine of Medway, Dennis Craig and his wife, Shirley, of Etna and George Craig and his wife, Shirley, of Brewer; 11 grandchildren, Tobie Kimball, Wayne Kimball, Edward Craig Jr., Naomi Hannafin, Cammie Perro, Cheryl Ann MacKenzie, Aimee Stewart, Matthew VanDine, Adam VanDine, Kenneth Craig and Wayne Craig; 15 great-grandchildren, Tobie Jr. and Sara Kimball, Amber and Shane Kimball, Tyson and Brendan Craig, Jacob and Caleb Hannafin, Micah, Devin and Thomas VanDine, Charles and Scott Stewart, Brandon and Trevor Perro. He will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as, by so many friends and family members. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a grandson, Timothy Dennis Craig; a great-grandson, Keegan Hannafin; and a brother, George Michael Craig. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at D.A.V. Hall, Medway, with the Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Bernard L. Coro D.A.V. Post will conduct military committal services in the spring at Grindstone Road Cemetery, Medway.
