MILLINOCKET and SALEM, Conn. – William H. Russell, 47, died unexpectedly Monday, March 28, 2005, at his Salem, Conn. residence. He was born July 2, 1957, in Millinocket the son of Leonard F. and Geraldine (Bouchard) Russell Sr. Bill’s education started at St. Martin’s School in Millinocket and then later he attended high school at Stearns High School where he graduated with the Class of 1975. After his graduation from high school, Bill worked at Great Northern Paper Company for more than 17 years where he was a highly qualified back tender. He left his employment at Great Northern in 1991 moving to Connecticut where he worked for Rand-Whitney Packaging Corporation in Montville, and later for RGIP Inventory Specialists. Bill was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed spectator sports, especially girls basketball. He also enjoyed playing golf and tennis. He is survived by his parents, Leonard “Buff” and Geraldine Russell of Millinocket; three brothers, Leonard “Bud” Russell of Millinocket, Rickey R. and wife, Marie Russell, of Millinocket, and James D. Russell of Quincy, Mass.; one sister, Mary Dexter of Hollis; his nieces and nephews, Sarah Dexter, Lindsay and her husband, Junior Soriano, Mark Dexter, Heather and her husband, Jason LaPlante, Jill and her husband, Micah Cram, and Amber Russell; also aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by a special sister-in-law, Fran Russell. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2005, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. Spring burial will be in Millinocket Cemetery.
