LEVANT – William Joseph Conway Sr., 87, died Jan. 10, 2007, at a Bangor health care facility, after a long illness. He was born June 29, 1919, in Waterbury, Conn., the son of Edward and Harriet (Nuhn) Conway. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. William owned and operated B&B Fishing Tackle for 20 years. Surviving are his wife, Betty Conway of Levant; a son, Francis Conway of Prospect, Conn.; a stepson, George “Butch” Free of Levant; and a sister, Evelyn Lockhart of Wolcott, Conn. He was predeceased by a sister and several brothers. Graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery at a time to be announced in the spring.
