CONNOR TOWNSHIP – Bill Dubay, 65, died unexpectedly Feb. 5, 2007, in Van Buren. He was born July 6, 1941, in Connor, the son of the late Levi and Alma (Sirois) Dubay. Bill attuned the Caribou school and lived most of his life in Caribou. In 1961, he moved to Connecticut where he was employed by General Dynamics, Groton, Conn. He married Shirley Paradis, July 6, 1963, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Caribou, where he was a member for many years. In 1965, Bill moved his family back to Maine where he was employed as a foreman and welder for Shaw Minko. In 1972, he and Shirley purchased a grocery business, which became Dubay’s Market. In 1978, they sold the store and built their new log home in Connor, which was a dream come true for him and his family. Bill was a talented craftsman and woodworker. He owned and operated Once upon a Tree, a wood bowl turning business in Connor. Bill will be terribly missed by his wife of more than 40 tears, Shirley of Connor; his son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Cheryl Dubay of Connor; his daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Jim Graves of Davenport, Fla.; two grandchildren, Cale Dubay of Durham, N.H., and Carlin Dubay of Connor; three sisters, Bonnie Brennen of Bucksport, Theresa Lepisto and her husband, Willard, of Minneapolis, and Pearl Dubay of Danielson, Conn.; two brothers, Harvey Dubay and his wife, Carol, of Danielson, Conn., and Kenneth Dubay and his wife, Mary, of Columbia, Conn.; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Dubay was predeceased by three brothers, Dale, Roy and Dennis; and a nephew, Kevin. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Thanh Nguyen officiating. Bill, happy Fourth Day with the Lord, until we meet again!
