BLUE HILL – Wilma A. Buchman, 90, died April 11, 2006, at her residence in Blue Hill. She was born Dec. 15, 1915, in Buffalo, N.Y., the daughter of Charles E. and Antionette (Van Valkenberg) Buchman. She was a graduate of Buffalo Seminary Preparatory School and Wellesley College. Wilma retired from the Kent School in Denver, Colo. having taught Latin, Greek and English history. She moved to Maine in the mid 70’s and lived on Flye Point and Blue Hill in homes that she had designed and built. Wilma enjoyed gardening; she had a greenhouse at her home so she could enjoy flowers year round, enjoyed classical music and loved animals, especially her special feline friend, Rufus. She is survived by a nephew, John C. Wagner of Pittsford, N.Y. and many friends including ones in Buffalo, N.Y., Toronto, Canada, and Denver, Colo. of which she traveled extensively to visit. Friends will gather 3 p.m. Saturday, April 22, for music and sharing at the Blue Hill Congregational Church UCC in Blue Hill.
