PITTSFIELD – Winfield W. Rolfe, 85, passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, in Pittsfield at Sebasticook Valley Hospital. He was born July 17, 1920, in Pittsfield, the son of Chester L. Rolfe and Bertha A. Chase. He later met and married Christine Reed in 1994. He worked as a truck driver for many years. Winfield was a member of the Deeper Life Assembly Pentecostal Church where he was a member of the board of trustees. He took great pride in and was very considerate of his family. He loved his scrapbooks, his western movies and was a very skilled carpenter; he enjoyed his moped and playing cards. He was the drummer in the town band for many years and also for his church community. He is survived by his wife, Christine; one daughter, Betty Lyden and her husband, John, of Waterbury, Conn.; one sister, Maribelle Rolfe of Pittsfield; a daughter in-law, Donna Rolfe of Pittsfield; four grandchildren, special grandson, Kevin Rolfe and his wife, Mary, of Garland; special granddaughter, Valerie Tuttle and her husband, Scooter, of Corinna, Lolita and Lance of Connecticut; six great-grandchildren, Nikki, Tyler, Ashley, Matthew, Jennifer, Jason and his red headed girlfriend, Mindy his special pet. He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Virginia of 52 years; a son, Leforest; a daughter, Gloria; a brother, Kenneth; and a grandson, David. Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 17, at Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, 35 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield and funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 18, at the funeral home.
