MILLINOCKET – Winifred P. Byers, 86, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 16, 1921, in Stacyville, the daughter of Fred and Minnie (Curtis) McNally. Winifred worked most of her life in Sherman as a beautician. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Winifred enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing shuffle board and bingo. She will be remembered for the abundance of kisses and hugs that she would so freely give out. Winifred also enjoyed eating good food. She is survived by her son, Ronald McNally, who she thought the world of, and his wife, Gail, of Millinocket; two granddaughters, Lynn Howes of Palmyra and Lori Russell of Kenduskeag; four great-grand-daughters, Melissa and Jessica Howes, and Kara and Kendra Russell; great-grandson, Truth Howes; sister, Verna Davis of Millinocket; two brothers, Francis McNally of Newport and Clayton McNally of Portland. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Irving, Harvey, Edgar and Sonny; sister, Geraldine McNally; and a special grandson, Eric McNally.
