CARIBOU – Winnie Marie Laura Morin, 92, went home to be with the Lord, Dec. 29, 2003, after a short illness at her Caribou residence. She was born July 6, 1911, at Van Buren, the daughter of John and Marie (Martin) Violette. She was educated in the Van Buren school system and was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family, who she cared for very lovingly. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Caribou. Winnie got to know the Lord personally at the age of 75 and started serving God then. She served him and depended on him daily. She loved to listen to the Christian Radio and tapes. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Adrian and Kathy Morin of Groton, Mass., and John Peter Morin of Caribou; two daughters and sons-in-law, Stella and Byron Nelson of Caribou, and Ann and Bill Smith of Westfield; a daughter-in-law, Diane Morin; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Dollard J. Morin in 1969; and by a son, Wilbruth “Willie” Morin in 1996. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. John Batesman, pastor, officiating. Spring interment will take place in the Old Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.
