BAILEYVILLE – Winona “Nonie” Fay Hood, 54, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, at Atlantic Rehab & Nursing Center, Calais. Nonie was born June 13, 1953, in Calais, daughter of John and Edna (McArthur) Hood. She graduated from Woodland High School, Class of 1971 and Holy Rosary Business School, St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Class of 1973. Nonie was employed for many years as a secretary for Washington County Technical College, Calais. Nonie taught cake decorating at the school and made many wedding cakes. She was predeceased by her father, John Hood; a half sister, Geraldine Barter; and a brother-in-law, Gregory Annis. Surviving are her mother, Edna Fern Hood of Baileyville; a sister, Denise Annis of Baileyville; three half brothers, Lawrence Hood of Baileyville, John Hood of Ellsworth and Richard Hood of Rhode Island; two special nieces, Tracy Annis and her husband, Jeff Cohen, of Las Vegas and Becky Boudrow and her husband, Jim, of Corinth, Vt.; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Friends may call noon-2 p.m. Tuesday at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Hinton officiating.
