BANGOR and S. RYEGATE, VT. – Winston J. Doe, 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior Dec. 5, 2004, surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Bangor. He was born Feb. 23, 1930, in S. Ryegate, Vt., the son of Elmer F. and Josephine E. (Brown) Doe. Winston graduated from Groton High School in the class of 1948. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Winston worked in the granite industry most of his life. He was a member of Bangor Baptist Church and the Sons of the American Revolution. Winston was a caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Louise (Davidson) Doe, of Bangor; three daughters, Roxanne Byron and husband, Zane, of Milford, Karla Davison and husband, Dwight, of Fairfax, Va., Janet French and husband, Jonathan, of Glenburn; grandchildren, Geoffrey and Jessica Heacock, Daniel, Caleb, and Nathan Davison, Kaitlyn, Meredith, Jillian, Regan and Josiah French. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the Bangor Baptist Church, 1476 Broadway, Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Mick, officiating. Friends are invited to meet with the family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Spring interment will be at Pinehurst Cemetery, S. Ryegate, Vt.
