MILLINOCKET – Yvette Mary Michaud Monteith, 86, beloved wife of Leon E. “Jack” Monteith, passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 30, 2004, at Millinocket Regional Hospital. She was born July 2, 1918, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Turmell) Michaud. She attended Millinocket schools and was employed at Gonya’s Drug Store during the 1940s. Yvette was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She had a joyful appreciation for family life, homemaking, and care giving. She was an accomplished seamstress and knitter. When she wasn’t consumed by home making duties, she would spend cherished afternoons in various wilderness areas picking berries with her husband and family. Yvette had a strong faith in God and she was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. Yvette lived life lovingly, simply, and with quiet dignity. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends. Yvette was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Leon E. Monteith; her brothers, Oliver, Vincent, George, Henry, and Carlton; her sisters, Irene and Bertha. She is survived by her children, daughter, Jacqueline Boutaugh; son, Thomas and wife, Ann Monteith, all of Millinocket; her youngest daughter, Mary Jo and husband, David Libby, of Brewer; her grandchildren, Jane Mary Frost, Jeffrey Boutaugh, Sam and Chris Monteith, Joshua and Thomas Dickinson, Deanna and Doug Libby; her great-grandchildren, Andrea and Carl Barr, Jason Boutaugh, Sydney and Isaac Monteith; her great-great-grandchildren, Hannah Jane Myers; her sister, Madeline Bishop; and brother, Ludger Michaud. Additionally she will be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. Burial will be in Millinocket Cemetery.
