ORONO – Yvonne Marie Smith, 88, died Sept. 21, 2006, at a local health care facility. She was born June 9, 1918, in Old Town, she was the daughter of George J. and Ida (Roy) LeBlanc. Yvonne worked for 40 years at the Penobscot Shoe Co., Old Town. She enjoyed crocheting. Yvonne was predeceased by her husband, Harry F. Smith; and three brothers, George, David and Reginald LeBlanc. She is survived by five children, Elizabeth Cunningham of Milford, Alfred Smith of Cardville, Joanne Deroche and her husband, Richard, of Alton, Floyd Smith and his wife, Beth, of Florida and Norma Jean Soltow of Old Town; many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held noon Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Alton Cemetery. Arrangements are with Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town.
