PLYMOUTH, Conn. – Zelma (Plourde) Starks, 75, of Todd Hollow Rd., Plymouth, wife of the late Armand Dube and James Starks died Thursday at Haven Health Center, Farmington. Mrs. Starks was born Feb. 19, 1929, in Eagle Lake. She was the daughter of the late Theophile and Louise (Michaud) Plourde. Mrs. Starks was a dedicated mother of five and had a 38- year teaching career in Eagle Lake and Caribou. She is survived by two sons, Karl Dube and his wife, Cathy, of Plainville, Conn., Kenneth Starks and his wife, Madeline, of Gloucester, Mass.; three daughters, Karen Lebrecht and her husband, Allen, of Kings Park, N.Y., Doreen Cowett and her husband, Fred, of Plymouth, Conn., Lisa Rubin of Voluntown, Conn.; two brothers, Rich and his wife, Mary Plourde, of Southington, Conn., Dean and his wife, Marilyn Plourde, of Terryville, Conn.; sisters-in-law, Lorna Plourde of Presque Isle, Mary Plourde of Meriden, Conn., Lucille Plourde of Bristol, Conn.; nine grandchildren, Amber Perez and her husband, Eddie, Amy and Ryan Lebrecht, Cherisse, Jarred and Kaylah Dube, Kylee Rubin, Trevor and Brittany Starks; two step-grandchildren, Jamie and Emily Derevere; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three bothers, Norman, Paul and Cecil Plourde; and one sister, Maxine Frenette Ouellette. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Friday at the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville, Conn. Burial and graveside service will be held at Eagle Lake Cemetery, Eagle Lake, in the spring. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
