ALLEN PARK, Mich. – Alma T. Grindle, wife of the late Sprague Grindle, passed away Sept. 11, 2008. She was born July 29, 1918, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of Ralph and Nellie (Bray) Tabbut. She graduated from Bar Harbor High School and was active in the Congregational church and YWCA. She was married in 1941 and raised her children in Caribou. She was employed for many years by the State of Maine. She and Sprague lived on Pushaw Lake, Stillwater, for several years before retiring to Clearwater, Fla., and Inverness, Fla. Alma enjoyed swimming, bowling, canoeing and snowmobiling. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving relatives are daughters, Lois Klonowski and Jerry, and Gerry Grindle; sister, Carol Johnston; sister-in-law, Mary Tabbut; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Terry, in 1963.
