BELFAST – Dagmar Theadora (Gavert) Olsson, 95, died Sept. 28, 2008. She had been a resident of Harbor Hill Health Care Center, Belfast. Dagmar Olsson was born July 15, 1913, in Salina, Kan., the daughter of a Swedish mission covenant minister and his wife. In May, she had moved from Florida, where she had lived with her late husband, Nils William Olsson, since 1981. After college and graduate school in the Midwest, she became an accomplished church organist and pianist. She married Nils William Olsson, in 1940 and the couple enjoyed nearly 67 years together. Dagmar Olsson will be missed mostly by her family: daughter, Karna Olsson and husband, Phil Brown, of Belfast; son, Greg Olsson and wife, Carolyn Olsson of Austin, Texas; and son, Chris Olsson and wife, Debbie Bergman, of Stockton Springs. In addition, Dagmar is survived by four grandchildren, David Carlson and wife, Sarah Carlson, of Belfast, Lars Carlson and wife, Julia Carlson, of Hilo, Hawaii, Jonas Carlson and wife, Michelle Lutz, of San Francisco, and Lily Olsson of New York City. She also leaves five great-grandchildren.
