ROGER R. SOUCY – ST. JOHN PLANTATION – Roger R. Soucy, 58, died Sept. 26, 2008, at his residence in St. John. He was born Aug. 7, 1950, in Van Buren, the son of Wilfred and Alma (Leverdiere) Soucy. Roger was an avid outdoorsmen who enjoyed fishing, ATV riding, hunting, snowmobiling, but most of all he loved riding his Harley with his wife, Christina, and with his friends. Roger served in the U.S. Army with 101 1st Airborne Division in Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW Lozier O’Grady Post No. 9609 of Fort Kent, St. Francis American Legion Post No. 180, the Disabled American Veterans, Harley’s Owner Group, Aroostook County Chapter Maine Harley, past president and member of Northern Ridge Runners ATV, St. Francis Sno-Angels Snowmobile Club and Maine Snowmobile Association. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends, and especially his dog, Mr. Bear. He is survived by his loving wife, Christina (Voisine) Soucy of St. John; three children, Katina Ouellette and her husband, Todd, of Caribou, Jamie Blizzard and her husband, Sgt. 1st Class William Blizzard II, of Hohenfels, Germany, and Justin Soucy and his wife, Amanda, of St. John; two brothers, Clayton Soucy and his wife, Anna, of St. John, and Donald Leverdiere and his wife, Crystal, of St. Francis; four sisters, Mary Ann Heinz and her husband, Al, of Sandown, N.H., Thelma Pelletier of St. Francis, Cindy Soucy of Lawrence, Mass., and Tammy Nadeau and her husband, Gerard, of Caribou; and three grandchildren, Devon, Morgan and Bradley. Roger was predeceased by his first wife, Nila (Hughes) Soucy in 1974; his parents; and two brothers, Mike and Kenneth Soucy. Friends may call 8-11:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial with full military honors will be celebrated noon Saturday at St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis. Burial will be held at a later date at St. John Catholic Cemetery.
