WAYNE E. DEMPSEY – EAST MILLINOCKET – Wayne E. Dempsey, 46, passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, surrounded by his family at a Bangor hospital, after a brief illness. He was born Nov. 20, 1961, in Millinocket, the son of Richard E. and Barbara E. (McQuade) Dempsey. Wayne loved being outdoors, and enjoyed all manner of activities that took him there, from hunting and fishing to four-wheeling, snowmobiling and camping. He was known for his outgoing personality and will be remembered for his lively sense of humor and living life to the fullest. Wayne had a special talent for needling people and was also adept in receiving the same. He was a very hard worker as an ironworker/rigger for Cianbro. Wayne was a member of Sons of the American Legion, Millinocket. In addition to his mother of Brewer, Wayne is survived by two sons, Jeff Thibodeau and his daughter, Taylor Ann Marie, of Hot Springs, Ark., and Jon Spearrin and his son, Ryan, of Lincoln; Jeff and Jon’s mother, Sharon Thibodeau of Medway; a daughter, Kassidi Ann Day and her mother, Dawn Day, both of Millinocket; his siblings, Vicki Dick and her husband, Eric, of Sidney and their children, Erika and Cameron, Eddie Dempsey and his wife, Lynn, of East Millinocket and their children, Adam and Kyle, Judy Turcotte and her husband, Bill, of Indiana, Penn., and their children, Justin, Jeremy, Kristen and Cody, Bonnie Patchell and her husband, Chet, of Grindstone and their children, Alyssa and Lindsey, Sharon Dempsey of Richmond, Va., and her children, Nicole and Kasey and Cody; two great-nieces, Marissa and Avari; one great-nephew, Daemyn; two uncles, Frank and Arlene McQuade of Chicago and Richard McQuade and his wife, Anita, of Millinocket; an aunt, Joan Boutaugh and her husband, Earl, of Wheeling, W. Va.; and many cousins and friends, too numerous to list. Wayne will also be missed by his special circle of friends from Pam & Ivy’s. He was predeceased by his father, Richard E. “Dick” Dempsey. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider.
