WASHINGTON, D.C., and LAKE MEDDYBEMPS – Donald Carver Casey died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at Casey House Hospice, Rockville, Md. He was born Jan. 26, 1942, in Hartford, Conn., to Awilda Carver Casey and John Patrick Casey of Suffield, Conn. He attended Suffield High School, Class of 1959 and Marianapolis Preparatory School, Class of 1961. In 1965 Donald graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelors of Science in political science. He was active in the civil rights movement and served in the Peace Corps in the Philippines before joining Rhodes Law Firm. He worked for the General Services Administration in Washington from 1972 to his retirement in 1996. He is survived by his brother, James Casey and Beverly Casey Uzanus, both of Clearwater, Fla.; and his nephew, Maj. John C. Duncan of Colorado Springs, Colo. His sister, Joan Casey Duncan, predeceased him. There will be a Requiem Mass for Donald 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at St. Luke’s Church, 4002 53rd St., Bladensburg, Md. There will be a service 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, Conn., with a brief graveside ceremony afterward at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Buckingham Avenue, Milford, Conn.
