PATTEN – Helen Greenlaw Palmer, 91, died Oct. 9, 2008. She was born Feb. 20, 1917, the eldest daughter of Rans and Flora Kennedy Greenlaw. She attended school in Merrill and Oakfield. Helen retired from Katahdin Trust Co. She enjoyed many years of teaching Sunday school. She was a member of Eastern Star and Rebekahs. Helen was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed traveling with her sister. Helen is survived by her son, Rance and his wife, Rita, of Patten; her daughter, Dale Steen and her husband, Herschel, of Patten; grandson, Ken Palmer and his wife, Amanda; granddaughters, Elizabeth Anderson and her husband, Sheldon, and Heather Murry and her husband, Dave; great-grandsons, Jared, John and Emery; one great-granddaughter, Morgan and her husband, Kevin; and sisters, Marge Dyer and Rebecca Simard. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Palmer; an infant son, parents; and three brothers, Roger, Dale and Keith Greenlaw. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church, Patten, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. with Steve Richardson officiating. A committal service will be held immediately after at Patten Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Veterans Memorial Library, Patten, ME 04765.
