NEWPORT – Kenneth Raymond Tardy, 61, went to be with his Lord Wednesday evening Oct. 8, 2008, surrounded by his family. He was born June 25, 1947, in Dexter, a son of Raymond and Rena (Emerson) Tardy. He graduated from Newport High School, Class of 1965, and the University of Maine, Class of 1969. He was employed as a mechanic at Lewis Brothers, Newport, for 30 years. At the time of his death, he owned and operated KRT Repair at his Camp Benson Road residence. In addition to his mother of Newport, he is survived by a brother, James and wife, Robin Tardy, of LaGrange; two sisters, Debra Tardy of Bangor, and Linda and husband, Donald Arey, of Brewer; one nephew, Edward and wife, Carol Arey, of Bangor; aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as special friends, Jim Seavey, Gary Silvia and Russ Sawyer, all of Newport. Ken was predeceased by his father, Ray. At Ken’s request, there will be no visiting hours. A graveside committal service will be held 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Riverside Cemetery, Newport, with Pastor George Finnemore officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
