RONALD H. GUAY SR.

GLENBURN – Ronald H. Guay Sr., 73, died peacefully Oct. 7, 2008, after a long illness. He was born Aug. 5, 1935, in Bradley, the son of Charles A. and Bernice M. (White) Guay. Ron was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served many years both domestic and foreign. He left the military to devote more time to his family. Ron was a devoted and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his eight children, Charlie E. Wescott and his wife, Vivian, of Orland, Ronald H. Guay Jr. and his partner, Denise Weber, of Hudson, Pam J. Gale and her husband, Andy, of Newington, Conn., Terri L. Spofford and her husband, Rick, of Schuylkillhaven, Pa., Tammi J. Whitehead and her husband, Donald, of Melrose, Fla., B. Neil Guay and his wife, Angela, of Orono, Kent V. Guay and his wife, Khairini, of Glenburn and John M. Guay and his wife, Stacy, of Bangor; grandchildren, Misty, Shawn, Tommy, Josh, Ricky, Katie, Kristy, Brent, Joseph, Judy, Michael, Ashley, Cameron, Kirin, Ronnie III, Zachary and Taeya; two great-grandchildren, Charlie and Micaela; two brothers, Martel Guay and Wilfred “Charlie” Guay; two sisters, Terry Veno and Jannette Grills; many nieces and nephews; close family friends, Greg Hobson and his wife, Vicky, of Milford and Greg Gallant and his wife, Dawn, of Corinna. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jody Lynn Guay; his wife, Judy; and a sister, Donna Ryskamp. Funeral services with military honors will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Doty, pastor of Hammond Street Congregational Church, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call noon until time of service Sunday.
