CARIBOU – Harold G. Gagnon, 66, died Oct. 10, 2008, at his residence after a long illness. He was born Sept. 5, 1942, in Caribou, the son of the late Dennis and Odianna (Caron) Gagnon Sr. He was a graduate of Caribou High School and was a longtime member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He married Mary Lou Gagnon, July 13, 1964. Mr. Gagnon was employed by Birds Eye Division of General Foods, Colby Starch, Potato Service and for 22 years at McCains. Harold was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and he was a very skilled carpenter. He loved children and always enjoyed the company of his many nieces and nephews, who always kidded that they had him wrapped around their fingers. Surviving in addition to his wife, Mary Lou of Caribou, are a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Jeannette Gagnon Jr. of Caribou; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Pearl Davis of Mustang, Okla., Rena and Charles Hutchins of Wentworth, N.H, and Shirley and Benjamin Labobe of Caribou; four sisters-in-law, Bridget Gagnon of Massachusetts, Bonita Gagnon of North Carolina, Mary Brooker of Newport and Marie Wasson of Fort Fairfield; and a brother-in-law, Charles Huston of Caribou. Mr. Gagnon was predeceased by two brothers, Gilman and Gary Gagnon; two sisters, Lorraine Huston and Joyce Gagnon; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Davis. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Jean Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating.
