HOULTON – Doris E. Lloyd, 94, went to be with her Lord Oct. 10, 2008, at a local hospital. She was born April 5, 1914, in New Limerick, the daughter of Fredrick O. and Verna Mae (Smith) Cole. Doris was a faithful member of Military Street Baptist Church. Her special times were spent with family and friends at her Nickerson Lake camp, and she had a passion for making homemade breads for friends and family. She is survived by three daughters, Joyce Craig of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Marlene Lloyd of Hancock and Joanne Grant of Houlton; one sister, Geraldine Henderson of Houlton; one brother-in-law, Donald Lloyd of Weston; two sisters-in-law, Glennis Lynds and Althea Lloyd, both of Houlton; two grandchildren, David Grant of Bangor and Debra Cone of Amity; and four great-grandchildren, Amanda Cone of Amity, Jennifer Grant of Southwest Harbor, William Eric and Logan Grant, both of Houlton. She is also survived by her Wal-Mart family, whom she enjoyed when she went on her many walks. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Clarence; and two grandchildren, William and Michael Grant. The family would like to express a very special thank you to Dr. Hassan Abouleish. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday at Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton, where services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Randall Burns and the Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Houlton Evergreen Cemetery.
